Aquinas Chemistry Society
Student Member status is not required for participation in Chemistry Society meetings
or events. Student Members receive a quarterly magazine, are eligible for national
programs, and receive discounts on insurance, travel, and meeting registration fees. A
student may become an ACS Student Member by submitting an application .
Aquinas Chemistry Society Recognition
The Aquinas Chemistry Society has received an Outstanding
ACS Student Communities Award for the 2024-25 year. These awards are given by the American Chemical Society
Committee on Education, and Outstanding is the highest level of award. The awards
are given in recognition of the student chapter's engagement with both the campus
Aquinas community and the greater Eastown and Grand Rapids communities.
Last year's officers, who are largely responsible for the number of events that led to this award, were President Noah Reilly ('25), Vice President Ella Satterthwaite, Secretary Emilie Poirier, and Treasurer Andrew Moody. Social Media Coordinator Carissa Matthews ('25) was also instrumental in publicizing and celebrating the accomplishments of the Aquinas Chemistry Society.
